Following months of speculation, Queens Park Rangers and Neil Warnock are on the verge of parting company.

On Wednesday night Amit Bhatia, a prominent member of the QPR board, resigned in protest at the way his fellow board members were conducting their business and the shareholder was Warnock’s prominent ally in the boardroom.

It seems the resignation of Bhatia has paved the way for the remainder of the QPR board to force Warnock out as they target a big name manager to lead the club up the Premier League table.

That big name manager is Carlo Ancelotti and with the QPR board boasting plenty of money, the former Chelsea manager could easily be tempted into making the move west across London.

Manchester City are widely regarded as the richest club in the world but if you were to pool together the combined wealth of QPR’s owners, you can suddenly see them playing a major part in next season’s Premier League.

QPR are 500/1 to win the Premier League and while challenging the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea in their first season back in the top tier will be a very difficult task, with a title-winning manager and an unlimited budget they can be expected to do well.

Ancelotti has said he wants to stay in the Premier League following his Chelsea exit and while the Italian would be manager number 14 under the new board, the double Champions League winner would have to be respected by the board.

Warnock is currently 8/1 to take over as the next West Ham manager but should he confirm his resignation as expected, those odds will be slashed dramatically.

The next West Ham manager betting has been very volatile but Warnock’s potential availability would see plenty of money come for the Championship winner.

A £10 stake on Warnock taking charge of West Ham would return £90. Sign up here to take advantage of a free bet worth up to £30.
