Tuesday’s Transfer Rumour Round-Up: Newcastle keen on double-swoop

Nicolas Tagliafico - Argentina

Another day, and another batch of transfer rumours which will have fans beaming over a potential new star or worrying about losing a key man.

We’ve been keeping tabs on all the day’s major stories, kicking off with a potential double-signing for Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United.

Magpies eyeing up defensive duo

It’s been quiet on Tyneside this summer, and boss Benitez has made it clear he’s frustrated by the lack of arrivals so far.

But two could be just around the corner. Newcastle are being hotly tipped to secure the services of Ahmed Hegazi and Nicolas Tagliafico.

The former was amongst the best performers in a poor West Bromwich Albion side last term, proving a powerful force at centre-half. Meanwhile, left-back Tagliafico impressed for Argentina at this summer’s World Cup.

Irons lead the race for Prem winner

Danny Drinkwater was one of the stars of Leicester City’s Premier League-winning side of 2015-16. But he’s endured a tough year on the books of Chelsea.

However, a summer exit from Stamford Bridge now looks likely. And it’s West Ham United at 2/1 who are the new favourites.

A return to the Foxes is priced at 3/1, with the same odds for the 28-year-old to join Crystal Palace.

Does Insta post point to Zaha’s fate?

Wilfried Zaha’s potential move to Totteham Hotspur has rumbled on all summer. But a cryptic Instagram post from Spurs ace and Zaha’s international teammate Serge Aurier may have confirmed the switch.

The Ivorian uploaded a photo of himself with an Eagle emoji (the symbol of Crystal Palace) and the words “Stay calm the Target is not far”.

It wouldn’t be the first time an Insta hint has preceded a big move. So, is this job done?

And the rest…

Manchester United are the new even-money favourites to sign Yerry Mina. That leaves previous market leaders Everton trailing at 6/4.

Speaking of the Toffees, they’re believed to be closing in on a deal for Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer. He netted seven timesd in 23 games for Barca last term.

Aaron Ramsey could make a controversial switch across London, with Chelsea the 4/1 frontrunners to sign the Arsenal ace.
