Trio return to help bankers Arsenal beat Blackburn

Published:

Arsenal may have already been many people’s idea of a banker in the upcoming round of Premier League fixtures and their chances of securing a vital three points against Blackburn are set to be further boosted by the return of three key players.

The international break has provided enough time for Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott and Alex Song to recover from their respective injuries and they are all in line to feature at the Emirates against Blackburn.

Arsenal’s betting odds to beat Blackburn were already 1/4 and there is also a slim chance that Robin Van Persie and Abou Diaby may win their fitness battles to play some part against Steve Kean’s men.

The news will not be music to the ears of Blackburn, who were already up against it, having failed to win in their last six Premier League games.

This run has seen Blackburn slip to just one point of the relegation places and a defeat at Arsenal could easily cause them to be in the bottom three by the end of the weekend.

Blackburn have also lost eight of their last nine Premier League away games, including their last five in succession.

Another thing going against Blackburn is that they have conceded ten goals on their last two visits to the Emirates and have not won an away game against the Gunners since 2002.

If Van Persie does recover from the knee problem that caused him to be substituted in Holland’s midweek victory over Hungary, this could spell even more trouble for Blackburn.

Van Persie has managed ten goals in as many games in all competitions against Blackburn and is 8/13 in the Premier League betting to score at any time, while it is 11/4 that he breaks the deadlock.

Meanwhile, Andrei Arshavin has three goals in three league starts against Blackburn and can be backed at 6/4 to strike against them again.

A £20 stake on Arsenal beating Blackburn 4-0 would return £220. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of free bets totalling up to £60.
