Tottenham up to usual late transfer window antics to sign Serie A star

Harry Redknapp has never been one to shy away from completing his transfer dealings right at the closing of the transfer window and it seems that this year will be no different.

Since arriving at Tottenham, Redknapp has spent relatively large sums in the closing hours before the conclusion of a window to bring the likes of Robbie Keane, Younes Kaboul and perhaps most memorably Rafael Van der Vaart to White Hart Lane.

The expected capture of Louis Saha from Everton will turn a few heads, but maybe for the wrong reasons as supporters attempt to work out what the 33-year-old will offer Tottenham that they do not already have.

However, this is something that cannot be said to their other reported surprise target Milos Krasic from Juventus.

Krasic has been starved of virtually any football this season and it was predicted that he would be offered an escape route in the Premier League.

With Chelsea looking short on wingers, it was widely expected that Andre Villas-Boas would make an offer, but this never materialised.

Meanwhile, there were also rumours that Liverpool and Manchester Untied were considering offers for the 27-year-old.

But with big opportunities limited, Tottenham have spotted a typical opportunity to secure a bargain, with an offer in the region of £8m potentially enough to lure the Serbian from Serie A.

Krasic could add some more genuine width to Tottenham and would offer some serious competitions to Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale in the wide areas.

Signing Krasic would give Tottenham an outside chance of winning the Premier League and they could be worth a punt at 22/1.
