Tottenham v Chelsea: Blues backed to bag a few at White Hart Lane

Published:

Much was made of Tottenham’s poor record against Chelsea when they travelled to Stamford Bridge before Christmas, and without so much as a whimper, they succumbed to a another defeat to their west London rivals.

And now they have to do it all again, although this time they are in their own back yard.

But for Spurs fans, it looks unlikely to change much, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side priced up at 7/2 underdogs to bag the three points.

The league leading Blues are 4/5 for victory, while it is 13/5 that the same result ensues as when the pair last met at White Hart Lane and the points were shared.

Ladbrokes News’ Ben Stones has taken a look at the markets and pin-pointed these three bets worth taking.

Eden Hazard to score anytime @ 7/4

It seems every week the Belgian forward is tipped up by us to find the net, and until he shows any sign that he will continually let us down, we are sticking with him.

The former Lille man has been in blistering form this season netting seven Premier League goals already.

More importantly, on Sunday he broke his duck away from Stamford Bridge, having scored his previous six on home soil, and could continue that good run on the road continuing at the Lane.

Chelsea to score in both halves @ 17/10

Jose Mourinho’s men have been the masters of concentrating for the full 90 minutes, something certain teams seem to be lacking this season.

The Pensioners are not slow out of the blocks either, with plenty of goals coming before half-time.

They have netted in both halves in six of their last eight matches and surely would have made it seven in eight at Southampton, had ‘the campaign’ not denied them a penalty in the second period.

Back them to right that wrong here.

Chelsea to score 2 or 3 goals @ 6/5

The stats show that Chelsea have scored two or three goals in seven of their last eight games.

They have also netted two or more in five of their last six matches against Spurs.

And while three of those have seen four goals, and even five bagged, we are taking a chance they are kept to no more than a trio of strikes, with the Lilywhites holding firm to deny Manchester United last time out.
