Take on the Tipster: Can the News team bounce back?

Published:

We’re only two weeks into the new season and here at Ladbrokes News we’ve already suffered our first defeat in the Take on the Tipster challenge.

A sterling midweek performance from @toon_cookie meant our challenger landed himself a £50 free bet as the pot rolled over.

Having been level at nine points apiece with our Premier League predictions we went to a tiebreak.

The question was simple: how many goals will be scored in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup games with the party closest to the total amount claiming victory.

Our opponent went with 51 (52 were scored!) while we went with 54 (I take the personal blame for this shocking decision).

Still, we’re not going to let this set-back get us down.

@WeWillWinWWFC is in the hot-seat this week with a £25 FREE BET up for grabs.

As always, the format is simple. Our man has given us his predictions for this week’s Premier League matches and we’ve laid out our own verdict.

One point will be awarded for a correct result with three points for guessing the correct score.

Here’s what horse racing fanatic and draw-shirker @WeWillWinWWFC predicts:

Burnley 0-2 Man United

Man City 3-1 Stoke

Newcastle 1-0 Crystal Palace

QPR 1-2 Sunderland

Swansea 2-0 West Brom

West Ham 0-1 Southampton

Everton 1-2 Chelsea

Aston Villa 3-1 Hull

Tottenham 2-1 Liverpool

Leicester 0-2 Arsenal

And here are our golden Premier League predictions:

Burnley 1-2 Man United

Man City 3-0 Stoke

Newcastle 2-0 Crystal Palace

QPR 1-1 Sunderland

Swansea 1-0 West Brom

West Ham 2-1 Southampton

Everton 1-2 Chelsea

Aston Villa 1-1 Hull

Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool

Leicester 0-3 Arsenal
