Sunderland now favourites again to sign Ulloa following squad omission

David Moyes - Sunderland

It’s the transfer story which looks set to run right until the window slams shut tonight. And once again, the Leonardo Ulloa saga has taken yet another turn.

Having entered the market as favourites to land the wantaway Leicester City forward this morning, the Black Cats were leapfrogged by West Bromwich Albion just a few hours ago.

That came after David Moyes had his third bid for Ulloa rejected and the north-east outfit announced that the £7.5m plus add-ons offer would be their last.

However, with Ulloa out of the Leicester squad through injury tonight, it gives Sunderland chiefs more time to table another bid.

Of course, would he have been fit and in Claudio Ranieri’s matchday squad, a deal would have been all but off by now.

But that isn’t the case, and it’s something our trading team have taken on board as we approach the final few hours of the transfer window.

And as a result, Moyes’ men have been backed into favouritism once again at 6/4 ahead of the Baggies (5/1).

It’s also worth noting that Moyes’ search for another striker in the last few hours has been non-existent.

Does that mean he’ll return with one more bid for the Argentine?

The odds are certainly suggesting that could be the case…
