A 25/1 chance on the day Carlo Ancelotti was sacked as Chelsea manager, Harry Redknapp is now the 1/1 favourite to take charge at Stamford Bridge.
Over the past couple of days the money has come flooding in for the Tottenham Hotspur manager and with Guus Hiddink reluctant to return to club management, Redknapp is now the leading contender to replace Hiddink.
Of the current crop of English bosses, Redknapp is by far and away the leading candidate to take charge of Chelsea but whether he’s viewed by Roman Abramovich in the same light as the punters remains to be seen.
You can’t ignore that level of support though and the fact he is now favourite makes him the leading contender.
Hiddink remains solid at 2/1 with Marco van Basten available at 3/1 and Andre Villas Boas pushed out again to 7/1.
Redknapp has also seen his odds slashed in the next manager to leave betting and as an 8/1 shot yesterday, it should alarm punters that the Tottenham boss is 5/4 to be the next manager to leave.
Should Chelsea come in for Redknapp it would be difficult to see the man some tout as a future England boss turn the job down, and with strong family ties to Frank Lampard it wouldn’t take much for Redknapp to win over the Chelsea changing room.
Steve Kean was the 4/1 favourite to be the next manager to leave but Redknapp is now dominating both managerial specials on Ladbrokes.
