It could be destination Newcastle United for Harry Redknapp amid reports claiming the former Tottenham and West Ham manager is plotting a route back into the game.

According to the latest Ladbrokes odds, the 67-year-old is 8/1 to become Magpies manager next season with a Hammers switch priced at 10/1 with the bookmaker.

But before any Toon supporters get too alarmed it’s also worth noting that the ex-QPR boss is 5/1 to head to a club in Qatar.

A Bournemouth return also looks an outside shot at 12/1 though anyone pinning their hopes on Redknapp landing the England job could be left sorely disappointed with Ladbrokes pricing a move into the Three Lions hotseat at 50/1.

This fresh speculation comes after the former Spurs gaffer gave an interview to Sky Sports News HQ outlining his plans to make a return to the game from the start of next season.

“I’ll be looking to get back in next season,” he explained.

“My knee will be sorted out in a week or two so I’ll be ready to go again and I’m looking forward to that.”

Redknapp had previously departed Loftus Road in the days after the close of a barren mid-season transfer window, citing his knee as a major source of discomfort.

With surgery now planned, the one-time Portsmouth manager will be on the lookout for a fresh opportunity with West Ham and long-time suitors Newcastle among the leading candidates.

But with a World Cup just around the corner and transfer funds aplenty on offer, a move to the sovereign Arab state could suit.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Redknapp appeared out of tune with the demands of the Premier League this season and the odds suggest he may head to Qatar in a bid to get back on song.”

Newcastle are next in action against Aston Villa this weekend with West Ham facing Crystal Palace.
