While the teams around them continue to attract money for next season’s title, Tottenham Hotspur are friendless in the 2011/12 Premier League title betting.
Having opened at 28/1 to win next season’s Premier League title, Spurs are now 33/1 as the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool attract plenty of punters money.
Liverpool opened at 16/1 but are currently trading at 10/1 while Manchester City opened at 11/2 and are now as short as 7/2 following their FA Cup victory .
Tottenham 2-0 victory at Liverpool has salvaged their season and Redknapp’s squad enter the final weekend of the season knowing a home win would secure fifth place and a Europa League spot.
It may not be the Champions League spot that the fans were hoping for, but in a season in which Spurs have been mediocre bar a few standout performances in Europe, the White Hart Lane faithful should feel relatively happy.
Combined, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko have managed just 12 goals between them in the league this season and Redknapp has pinpointed the attack as an area to improve if Spurs are to land a top four spot next season.
The Spurs manager was in Paris on Saturday to watch the French Cup final between Lille and Paris St Germain and it looks as if Lille’s Eden Hazard is high up on Redknapp’s list of transfer targets.
“I went to the cup final in France on Saturday night and I’m going to go abroad two or three times this week and keep following up leads and see what we come up with,” said Redknapp.
Spurs are as big as 11/4 to finish in the top four next season and Redknapp looks prepared to do the scouring in order to achieve next seasons target.
