QPR v Swansea: Monks’ men to end hosts’ Loftus Road run

Published:

Hapless on the road, QPR have netted every one of their 18 Premier League points at home this season, though with some cracks appearing over Christmas, Swansea look good value to end their hosts’ six-game unbeaten run at Loftus Road.

Ladbrokes are certainly finding it difficult to side with a clear winner, pitching QPR as 2/1 shots to start 2015 with three points, while Swansea are at 6/4 and the draw is 23/10.

They’ll be no such fence-sitting here though as we offer up three bets on the New Year’s Day clash:

Swansea to win @ 6/4

Although Garry Monk’s weary Swans got on the wrong end of an Anfield pasting last time, they were actually competitive throughout and the scoreline was a little harsh.

The Welsh side had just pieced together back-to-back wins home and away prior to that and crucially had QPR’s measure when beating them 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium on December 2nd.

That loss was QPR’s third consecutively in the top flight to Swansea who have very much enjoyed themselves against the Londoners, scoring 11 times and conceding only once in that run.

R’s fans will need little reminding of the 5-0 hammering handed out to them by the Swans on their last visit to Loftus Road two seasons past either.

Swansea win to nil @ 3/1

Prior to their mauling at Liverpool, Monk’s side had kept a pair of clean sheets, as they did against Harry Redknapp’s outfit at the start of the month.

QPR couldn’t find a way past Palace last time either.

Which half will produce the first goal: First @ 2/5

This bet would have landed in all of Swansea’s last five games, while on three of those occasions it was the Welsh side grabbing the goals.

Before the Eagles stalemate, QPR’s last three had seen a goal before the break too.
