You didn’t really expect our bearded wonder to lose for two weeks on the trot, did you?

The Professor announced himself on the big stage this week with a thrilling tie-break win over @DeanSmi06656473 to seal a maiden victory in our red-hot tipping competition.

Level at four points apiece following the last round of Premier League games there was only one way to settle matters.

And that, naturally, was to predict the total goal minutes in the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg between Chelsea and Liverpool.

Our esteemed tipster plumped for 110 minutes while Dean went for a slightly more ambitious 176 minutes.

Voila! You just knew that game had 0-0 written all over it.

And so we have a rollover with @leiane1 vying for a £50 free bet!

As always, the format is simple. One point will be awarded for a correct result with three points for guessing the correct score.

Here’s what she’s gone for:

Hull 1-2 Newcastle
Crystal Palace 3-1 Everton
Liverpool 1-2 West Ham
Man Utd 3-0 Leicester
Stoke 2-2 QPR
Sunderland 0-1 Burnley
West Brom 0-2 Tottenham
Chelsea 1-0 Man City
Arsenal 3-1 Aston Villa
Southampton 3-1 Swansea

And here are The Professor’s predictions:

Hull 2-2 Newcastle
Crystal Palace 3-2 Everton
Liverpool 0-1 West Ham
Man Utd 2-0 Leicester
Stoke 2-1 QPR
Sunderland  1-0 Burnley
West Brom 1-2 Tottenham
Chelsea 2-1 Man City
Arsenal 3-1 Aston Villa
Southampton 1-0 Swansea

Why? When you’re channeling The Professor the logic is simple.

Palace have won their last two games 3-2 and have triumphed in their previous two meetings with Everton by the same scoreline.

Meanwhile – taking their 5-3 victory earlier in the season out of the equation – Leicester have scored only once in eight Premier League meetings the Red Devils.

On the other hand, United have scored only five goals in their last six outings so a low-scoring victory is on the cards.
