Premier League: Top four, Europe and relegation odds

The Premier League returns on Wednesday night with Aston Villa versus Sheffield United and Manchester City against Arsenal.
Both fixtures will have major impacts at the top and bottom of the table, with nine gameweeks then still to play starting on Friday night.
So before things kick-off on Wednesday, we’ve got a quick rundown of the state of play for all the key areas… assuming of course that Liverpool are about to win the title sooner or later at odds of 1/1000…
Premier League Top Four Odds
With Man City and Leicester City seemingly secure in second and third, the fight for fourth is between Chelsea, Manchester United, Sheffield United, Wolves, Tottenham and Arsenal – if they can put a run together.
Frank Lampard’s Blues are at the head of the pack, and are 8/13 to secure fourth place, with Man United deemed their most likely challengers at 7/4.
The odds then drift a touch, with Wolves 7/1 for a top-four finish, Jose Mourinho’s Spurs 10/1, Sheffield United 12/1 and Arsenal 14/1.
With nine rounds still to go, the mid-table bunch including Burnley, Everton and Crystal Palace could yet force their way in, but none of the trio are shorter than 100/1 to perform a mighty late-season surge
Premier League European Places Odds
There are some complications with regards to this part of the table, as Manchester City’s appeal against their two-year UEFA ban is still on-going.
This means that fourth and fifth place could yet be a Champions League spot, or if City’s appeal is successful, fifth and sixth would revert to their usual Europa League qualifying positions.
That will all be played out in due course, but for now, it’s Chelsea who are 1/14 for a top-six finish ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United at 1/6.
It’s Evens that Wolves secure European football with a top-six berth, with Tottenham deemed a 13/8 shot, ahead of 9/4 Arsenal and Sheffield Utd at 11/4.
Premier League Relegation Odds
The battle to avoid the drop could go to the wire, with just eight points separating the bottom six.
Norwich City have the most work to do, and though the Canaries have been thrilling at times this term, they’re 1/20 for an instant return to the Championship.
Similarly, Aston Villa are 2/5 for a speedy re-entry into the second tier, but that could change if they win their game in hand on Wednesday evening.
Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth are the only other side given an odds-on price for the drop at 4/5, with West Ham United at 2/1 and Watford a similarly-priced 9/4.
There’s 11/4 about Brighton, before the odds climb out to Steve Bruce’s Newcastle at 14s.
