The race to win this season’s Premier League golden boot is really hotting up.
Three players lead the way after 11 games of the season. Sergio Aguero, Eden Hazard and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have each scored seven times this term.
Six players are one goal back on six strikes, with another eight a further strike back on five.
It’s remarkably close so far into the season, but what do the odds say?
Manchester City’s hotshot is starting to find his groove. Aguero has scored four in his last six league games, to move onto seven and take favouritism in the betting.
Aguero has won the accolade once before, in 2015, and is now the 11/4 favourite to win it again.
Tottenham’s star man has been favourite for much of the campaign, but has slipped to second in the betting in recent weeks.
Kane is 3/1 to claim the golden boot for the third time in four seasons. The England international has scored at least 21 goals in each of the last four Premier League campaigns, and is already on six this time around.
Critics continue to say that Mo Salah is lacking something this term, compared to last season’s 32-goal haul to win the golden boot.
But the Liverpool man is already on five goals this season. He’s 5/1 to successfully defend his title.
Arsenal hotshot Aubameyang is averaging a goal every 110 minutes. That’s a fine return for a player who doesn’t start every game under Unai Emery.
The Gabon international is 6/1 to become the first Gunners striker to win the accolade since Robin van Persie in 2012. But will Alexandre Lacazette take goals away from him?
Chelsea’s main man is the only other player priced up shorter than 16/1.
The Belgian has been arguably the Premier League player of the season so far, and shares top spot with Aguero and Aubameyang on seven goals.
Didier Drogba was the last Chelsea player to win the golden boot in 2010. Hazard is 8/1 to bring it back to Stamford Bridge.
