Odds slashed on Wilshere to Bournemouth – Cherries now favourites

Published:

Jack Wilshere is expected to make a decision on his short-term future in the next few hours – but while Crystal Palace have headed the market up to this point for the England midfielder’s signature, another option for the 24-year-old is to team up with Eddie Howe at Bournemouth.

Wilshere reportedly met with both Howe and Palace manager Alan Pardew yesterday and it’s likely he’ll be plying his trade with one of these two clubs for at least a season as Wenger wants him to get regular game time at a high level.

And in the last hour odds have substantially fallen from 2/1 to just 2/5 on Wilshere temporarily moving to Dean Court.

While Wenger and Pardew have locked horns on several occasions over the years, the Gunners boss seems to be in admiration of the young English manager at Bournemouth, and there’s no doubting Howe’s style of play would suit the Cherries down to a tee.

Perhaps the only thing tempting Wilshere to a move to Selhurst Park is the fact that he’d still be playing football in London, where he’s lived all his life – aside from a short-spell in Bolton in 2010.

But if he’s to kickstart his career and live up to the hype which once surrounding him, his best chance of doing so may just be at Dean Court.
