Newcastle United’s striking department is about to get a serious boost, according to the latest odds. That’s because the Tyneside club are now just 4/7 to secure a Transfer Deadline Day move for Besiktas hitman Cenk Tosun.
The Turkish international netted 24 times in 47 games for Kara Kartallar last term, and has hit the ground running in this campaign, scoring in two of his first four outings. But it seems the 26-year-old is now swapping one set of black-and-white stripes for another.
Rafa Benitez has reportedly tabled an £8m bid for the forward this morning, with the North-East giants keen to add firepower to a side which has failed to score in two of its first three Premier League games.

The team in question are Crystal Palace, and it’s believed the Eagles are still keen to swoop for the player. That’s seen the South London club priced up at 4/1 to beat Newcastle to the prolific hitman’s signature.
Still, Palace boss Frank de Boer will have to act very quickly to have any chance of usurping the Magpies, with a move to St James’ Park now looking very likely indeed.
