England’s two most successful clubs face off at Old Trafford this Saturday lunchtime, with Manchester United two points and a place above visitors Liverpool in the Premier League.
While there’s a ton of attacking talent in both squads, the high stakes of this fixture tend to make it a cagey, tight affair. None of the last six meetings have seen more than two goals, and it’s 20/23 for Under 2.5 Goals again.
In fact, three of the last six meetings have finished goalless. With three of United’s last six games failing to produce a goal before the interval, another snoozefest in the opening period could be on the cards. It’s 17/10 for 0-0 at Half-Time in this meeting.
However, the Red Devils could have enough to edge this.
They’ve picked up 35 points from their 14 home league games, and beat Chelsea in the last one. In the Head-to-Head record, the last four at Old Trafford have thrown up two home wins and a pair of draws. Victory for Man United is priced at 13/8, while the Draw is 23/10 and a Liverpool win is 13/8.
The Reds have scored just three goals on their last four visits to M16, and United’s defence have kept four clean sheets in five at home. There’s 19/5 for United to Win to Nil, while a 1-0 home win is available at odds of 8/1.
However, Liverpool are in excellent form at present – thanks largely to the goals of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian ace is currently the league’s joint-top scorer with 24, and he’s 6/4 to find the net Anytime.
If the hosts are to edge it, Romelu Lukaku could have a big say. The big Belgian has racked up seven goals in his last 10 outings, and is 6/4 to Score Anytime in this one.
Meanwhile, it’s 4/1 for Last Goalscorer: Lukaku – something he’s pulled off nine times already this season.
