Man United moving in on whole host of Tottenham talent

The path between White Hart Lane and Old Trafford is a well-trodden one. Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov both successfully swapped north London for Cottonopolis in the last 10 years, while Teddy Sheringham also made the switch in 1997.
Now, with Spurs building a young squad full of quality, the Red Devils are considering queuing up at one of their favourite shopping outlets once again.
A variety of media sources have suggested that the Premier League giants are keeping tabs on a range of Lilywhites, including regularly-linked Harry Kane.
But beyond the north Londoners’ main striker, Dele Alli and Danny Rose have emerged as other potential Man United buys as the winter transfer window edges to a close.
Alli, who has shot to stardom in a whirlwind half-a-season in the top-flight, has reportedly been scouted regularly by the Red Devils over Spurs’ last four games, while Rose has also been studied at close quarters.
Reports linking England international Kane with an Old Trafford move emerged during the summer window, although Mauricio Pochettino was quick to rubbish them.
The Argentine tactician used the same strategy when asked about his goalgetter’s future earlier in January and there is little indication that Tottenham will allow Kane to leave any time soon.
Likewise, it’s difficult to imagine Alli upping sticks for a new club a mere 21 top-flight games into his career, especially as the former MK Dons whizzkid only recently renewed his contract in the capital.
Rumours sending Rose to one of the Premier League’s elite have been increasingly common this term. The left-back has been touted as a future Manchester City and Chelsea player over the course of the campaign and is now seen as the man to plug the injury gap United have in that position.
With Spurs mounting a serious case for Champions League qualification, at odds of 1/3, it’s highly unlikely any of the trio will be packed off in the remaining two days of the current window. It would take particularly weighty offers from Ed Woodward and co to land them beyond that too.
