Man City purge continues to gather pace on Deadline Day

Pep Guardiola’s presence at Manchester City is being strongly felt on Deadline Day as three more high-profile players look to be following Joe Hart through the Etihad exit door.

England goalkeeper Hart has joined Serie A side Torino on a season-long loan after Guardiola pushed the former City number one to the fringes by starting Willy Caballero in goal, before signing Barcelona stopper Claudio Bravo.

While Hart contemplates life in Italy, former teammates Eliquiam Mangala, Samir Nasri and Wilfried Bony are all on the move.

Both Mangala, who has flopped badly since arriving for £32m two summers ago, and Nasri, a player whose City stock has also nosedived in recent seasons, are heading to Spain on respective loan deals.

Mangala is joining Valencia subject to a completed Medical, while Nasri is also a medical away from becoming a Sevilla player for the duration of the 2016/17 campaign at least.

Meanwhile, another big-money casualty of Guardiola’s arrival is striker Bony, who is at Stoke City’s training ground undergoing a medical, though it’s unclear whether it’s a loan or permanent deal at this stage.

The Potters are short of options to lead the line and after a nervous start to their top-flight campaign, Mark Hughes will be hoping he can coax the prolific form from his Swansea days out of the Ivorian international striker.

Bony scored 35 times in 70 appearances for the Welsh side before securing a £25m move to Man City in January 2015.
