Man City, Arsenal and Tottenham trio linked with big spenders

Always looking to spend their billions, Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala are linked with virtually every name that seemingly becomes available for transfer.

Brazilian striker Neymar is just one of the unrealistic targets of the club, although they are right to aim high after managing to offer Samuel Eto’o enough to sign.

Money can talk when it comes to signing footballers, but it still remains unlikely that they can persuade Carlos Tevez to join from Manchester City.

However, they may have more chance of securing the services of teammate Kolo Toure, who has largely had to play second fiddle to Joleon Lescott in the battle to partner Vincent Kompany in the heart of the team’s defence this season.

Elsewhere, it is two Russians seemingly topping the Anzhi shopping list and there is more than a strong possibility that an approach for Andrei Arshavin would be successful.

Arshavin has looked far below his best all season and has even been the recipient of boos from the Arsenal fans in recent games.

Selling Arshavin may also encourage Arsene Wenger to spend big in the transfer market to bring in a player of the mould of a Eden Hazard or Christian Eriksen.

Meanwhile, the other Anzhi target is Tottenham’s Roman Pavlyuchenko, who is regularly being linked with a move away from White Hart Lane as he battles to become a first-team regular.

The reported signing of Louis Saha may also convince Harry Redknapp that the time has come to part with Pavlyuchenko.
