With Swansea in Carling Cup final action, rather than having teams with double gameweeks for week 27, only 18 of the Premier League clubs are in action.
Despite their cup defeats in the past week to Blackburn and Bayern Munich, it is Arsenal that are favoured to enjoy the most productive week from their home clash with Aston Villa.
This is with good reason as Villa have conceded the most away goals in the Premier League this season and Arsenal have won the same fixture 3-0 in two of the last three seasons.
Theo Walcott got one of the goals at the Emirates last season and is 8/1 to top the points charts this week, ahead of teammate Santi Cazorla at 12/1.
Gareth Bale has scored in each of Tottenham’s last three Premier League games and is another who may be popular at 14/1, although he visits West Ham, who have achieved 73 per cent of their points this season on their own patch.
QPR have made it a slight habit this season to draw 0-0 at home to the Premier League’s big guns and this is a negative towards Robin Van Persie’s chances at 12/1.
With Manchester City also facing Chelsea, this could be the week to look to one of the smaller Premier League teams to feature the top point scorer.
Each of the last four fixtures between West Brom and Sunderland have seen at least four goals scored, with West Brom netting exactly four times in the last two, including at the Stadium of Light in November.
The Baggies can benefit from home advantage here and have scored at least twice in four of their five fixtures thus far this season at the Hawthorns against opposition currently placed below Sunderland.
Romelu Lukaku started on the bench at Liverpool last time, but his late goal may win him the nod here.
He is of interest at 28/1 to be the top gameweek 27 point scorer.
Alternatively, Shane Long is 50/1 in this market and will be vying for a starting spot with Lukaku, unless Steve Clarke opts to play two strikers.
