We reported earlier that Queens Park Rangers were confident of singing Craig Bellamy today but the London club have two new rivals in Stoke and Liverpool.
It wasn’t long ago that we reported Liverpool were toying with the idea of making a move for Bellamy, and it is believed there is an offer on the table for the Manchester City striker to return to his former club.
Stoke have almost completed a deal with Birmingham for striker Cameron Jerome but Tony Pulis is very keen on taking Bellamy to the Britannia, but if there is, as reported, an offer from Liverpool, it’s hard to see Bellamy turning it down.
Bellamy had been in Swansea this morning with Wales ahead of their European Championships qualifier with Montenegro on Friday, but the striker has left the training camp as he searches for a new club.
It seems London was not plugged into the striker’s sat nav as reports in south Wales suggest the striker is on his way for a medical at Liverpool.
However, Bellamy would have to head past Stoke-on-Trent to get to Liverpool and it would be no surprise to see Tony Pulis flagging down the strikers car on the M6.
Bellamy’s £90,000-a-week salary has proved to be a stumbling block in the past for clubs making a move for the Welsh striker, but with so much competition ahead of him at Manchester City, the striker is keen to leave Eastlands.
It would be a sensational return to Merseyside for Bellamy and having scored seven league goals in 27 appearances for Liverpool, his return would be a huge benefit.
With three potential options, Bellamy has just under eight hours to decide and this one could go down to the wire.
