Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri may have – on current form at least – the Premier League’s hottest striker, but that hasn’t stopped the Italian looking to bolster his attacking options.
The Foxes sit second in the table following an incredible start to the season which has seen the east Midlands outfit taste defeat just once.
Jamie Vardy has been at the centre of Leicester’s headline-grabbing exploits, netting 14 times this term including a record-breaking spell of scoring in 11 consecutive league games.
The former Fleetwood man has netted almost half of his club’s 29-goal tally this season, and it appears Ranieri is keen to avoid becoming too dependent on his in-form forward who is the 7/4 favourite to be the top Premier League goalscorer.
N’Golo Kante has been an ever present at the King Power since joining from Caen in the summer and it appears Leicester are set to head back to northern France when the transfer window reopens in just a few weeks.
Rumours abound that Andy Delort has caught the attention of Leicester’s scouts, and the 24-year-old has been a central figure for Caen, who, much like Leicester themselves are making headlines in France, currently sitting second in Ligue 1.
Delort had a short spell with Wigan Athletic, but though he failed to settle, it appears the Frenchman is still very much open to a move to English shores once again and Leicester offer a very different proposition for a striker who has netted five times this season.
A former beach soccer player with France under Eric Cantona, Delort netted 24 goals in just 36 appearances with Ligue 2 Troyes in the 2013-2014 season, and is alleged to have also been courted by Aston Villa and QPR.
Ranieri is leading a good thing at the King Power, and the Italian looks set to keep it going with some New Year additions.
