Alexandre Lacazette is set to be a man in demand this summer, especially after the forward’s latest comments.
The Lyon hotshot has been linked with a move to the Premier League for the past few seasons.
But with the French outfit languishing behind Monaco, PSG and Nice in the title race, the club may struggle to keep hold of their superstar striker.
Lacazette has bagged 18 goals from just 17 Ligue 1 appearances this season, but Lyon’s nine defeats have ended their title hopes.
And speaking on French television this weekend, the 25-year-old said: “I think that the right moment has arrived to leave.
“I think that this summer I will need a change of scenery and discover something else, still with the idea of advancing and progressing in terms of football and as a person,” he added.
“I will continue to work, in the hope that good opportunities will come this summer.”
The French international has been with Lyon for his entire career, making his senior debut in the 2009-2010 season.
But it’s in the last four years where the forward has really made headlines, firing in 81`goals in the last three-and-a-half seasons.
Arsenal’s defeats to Watford and Chelsea have all but ended their Premier League hopes for another season, and it remains to be seen what the Gunners plan to do to end their 13-year wait for the title.
West Ham were heavily linked with a move for Lacazette last summer, as the Irons hoped to build on a fine sixth-place finish and the move to a new stadium.
Doubtless the east Londoners would have had a better show at acquiring the Lyon ace had they maintained Dimitri Payet’s services, but don’t be surprised to see the Hammers make Lacazette their number one priority this summer.
