Just the one player linked with a Deadline Day move to Arsenal

It looks like Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has all but completed his business in this transfer window, spending roughly £96m in the process. But there could still be one more player on his way to the Emirates, taking their total spend to over £100m for the first time in one window in the club’s history.

22-year-old Lanus midfielder Miguel Almiron is so far the only name linked with a move to the red side of North London today while a number of departures are expected, as the Jack Wilshere saga continues.

And should Wilshere move on, that would free up a space in the middle for Almiron to potentially fill, although the Paraguay international is also capable of playing out wide.

Scoring three times in 13 games last season as Lanus went on to claim only their second Argentine championship, Almiron certainly fits the criteria Wenger looks for in an attacking midfielder – he’s quick, versatile, comfortable on the ball and young.

Will this be the only deal Wenger oversees today or is this the start of a hectic few hours at Arsenal? Only time will tell!
