The MLS is currently in the midst of their playoffs, but once that is over there will be a number of quality players with little to do.
Previous seasons have seen the likes of Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane come to the Premier League during their American downtime, and there are many players about who could make an impact in England this season.
Rumours suggest Didier Drogba is heading to Bologna, so he’s out of the running, but here are the other players to look out for:
LA Galaxy are already out of the playoffs and the 35-year-old with 120 Premier League goals could provide experience to any dressing room.
You couldn’t envisage him heading anywhere but the club where he is a hero and was top scorer last season, Gerrard would surely be welcomed back to Anfield with open arms.
The real star of the MLS this season as he topped both the goalscoring and assist charts, with 22 and 16 respectively.
His performances for Toronto FC helped the 28-year-old force his way back in to the Italy squad, and with Euro 2016 coming up he’ll want to keep playing to remain in Antonio Conte’s plans.
A player with pace, skill and the ability to finish he’d be a welcome addition to any Premier League side.
Some of the older talents such as Robbie Keane and David Villa have been key players for their teams the whole season so may welcome the break.
However, some of the younger American talent may view this as a chance to head to Europe for a spell, and the 25-year-old Diskerud would be a solid option.
Born in Norway, he spent most of his time there before a January 2015 transfer to New York City sent him to his adoptive homeland where he’s played more than Andrea Pirlo and Frank Lampard.
