Football: Five matches to consider for your weekend acca

A new Premier League season is upon us and we have a bunch of opening day fixtures to enjoy, plus games in the Football League too as clubs try to get their campaigns off to a winning start.
Without further ado, we’ve rustled up five net busters worth considering when picking your start of the season betslip.
Fulham v Arsenal (Sat, 12:30)
Where better to start than the first game of the Premier League campaign! New boys Fulham take on FA Cup champions Arsenal in a London derby on Saturday lunchtime.
The Gunners are 4/7 favourites to take all three points at Craven Cottage against the even-money relegation candidates. Fulham are 19/4 underdogs with a draw priced at 3/1.
Mikel Arteta’s side will be expected to hit the ground running following their FA Cup and Community Shield triumphs against a Fulham side who have played only once since their Championship Play-Off final win at Wembley in August.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is 8/11 to find the back of the net anytime and 16/5 to score two or more. Willian is 7/1 to break the deadlock on his debut with over 2.5 match goals 8/11.
For Fulham, the goal supply will fall heavily on the shoulders of Aleksandar Mitrovic. The striker is 17/10 to score anytime for the Cottagers.
Liverpool v Leeds United (Sat, 17:30)
It’s another cracker! Leeds are back in the big time following their sixteen-year exodus from the top- flight and they’re 17/2 to spring a surprise and take all three points at Anfield.
However, it’s difficult to look past the reigning Premier League champions for this one who are so formidable at home and are 3/10 to extend their 59-game unbeaten run with a win. A draw is 21/5.
Liverpool have kept just one clean sheet in their last nine outings including pre-season, however. Both teams to score is 20/23.
Leeds haven’t beaten Liverpool since April 2001 with Jurgen Klopp’s side winning six of the eight meetings. Liverpool to win to nil is 5/4 with Leeds a whopping 18/1 on the same market.
West Ham United v Newcastle United (Sat, 20:00)
Our next match takes us under the lights at the London Stadium as the Hammers welcome Steve Bruce’s men to the capital.
West Ham are 11/10 favourites to burst the Magpies’ opening day bubble with a win. But we expect a cagey affair with a draw 23/10 and under 2.5 goals 5/6 odds.
Newcastle are 5/2 outsiders to take all three points on the road with new signings Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser, Jeff Hendrick and Jamal Lewis eager to make an instant impact.
Tottenham v Everton (Sun, 16:30)
Jose Mourinho versus Carlo Ancelotti! Two of the biggest manager’s in world football lock horns on Sunday afternoon with both sides full of optimism ahead of the new season.
Spurs are 10/11 to make home advantage count and leave the Toffees feeling blue with a win on the opening weekend. Tottenham haven’t lost to Everton in eight years, a run of fifteen matches.
Everton (16/5) have made some huge signings, most notably James Rodriguez from Real Madrid but Spurs look too strong for the Merseyside outfit. The Toffees are hoping to upturn their poor away record from last season were they only won five times on the road.
A draw is 12/5 with both teams to score 5/6. Both teams to score and Spurs to win is 3/1 with Everton 7/1 on the same market.
Bournemouth v Blackburn (Sat, 15:00)
We can’t forget matches in the Football League too! There aren’t much tougher leagues than the Championship as Bournemouth look to begin their revival following relegation last term.
The transition period is well underway at the Vitality Stadium following the departure of manager Eddie Howe and a few of their key players. The Cherries are Evens to beat Blackburn (11/4) on the south coast on Saturday.
Josh Tindall will be desperate to get off to a winning start against a side with play-off aspirations this season. Both teams to score is 3/4 with a share of the spoils priced at 12/5.
