Everton v Leicester tips: Goals could flow in 2019 opener

The first Premier League game of 2019 comes from Goodison Park as Everton host Leicester City.
Both sides lost at the weekend. Everton went down 1-0 to Brighton and Hove Albion, while the Foxes were downed by the same scoreline at home to Crystal Palace.
But Everton’s 5-1 win over Burnley and Leicester’s double over Chelsea and Manchester City strongly showcased each team’s attacking talents. An entertaining encounter could be on the cards on Merseyside.

Everton are favourites for this one at Evens. But Leicester beat Chelsea 1-0 in their last away game, and are 11/4 to grab a second away win in succession.

Talking tactics
This one looks evenly-poised, but it could come down to each side’s number 10.
Everton’s Gylfi Sigurdsson and Leicester’s James Maddison both have the qualities to dictate games, open up defences and beat goalkeepers.
Richarlison will also look to have a say for the hosts, but the Toffees’ defence must keep tabs on the pace and clinical finishing of Jamie Vardy.

Richarlison opened the scoring in Everton’s 2-1 win over Leicester back in October, and the Brazilian is 9/2 favourite to do so again.
Vardy loves playing the Toffees, however. He’s netted four times in his last five appearances against the blue half of Merseyside. The former England international is 5/1 to score first and 15/8 anytime.
