All the talk surrounding Everton this transfer window may be about Roberto Martinez’s desire to bring in another goalkeeper, but the Toffees now look set to battle Napoli for French full-back Angelo Fulgini.

He may not be a household name (yet), but the 18-year-old is highly thought of in his home land.

Recently called up to the France U19 squad, current club Valenciennes could have a battle on their hands to keep hold of him, according to L’Equipe.

A right-back that can also play centrally, it is unlikely that Fulgini would slot straight into the Everton senior team, but with a reported fee of €500,000 likely to be enough to secure his signature, they could afford to bide their time.

His current club are 11th in Ligue 2 following their relegation last season and are struggling for some consistency as they strive to get back into the top flight.

The club are reported to be looking to cash in on some of their youth prospects, the same L’Equipe article suggesting they are preparing to listen to bids from Crystal Palace for striker Andy Faustin and are willing to sell Yanis Hamzaoui to Anderlecht or Zenit St Petersburg.

Fulgini has yet to feature for the first team, but has been ever present for Valenciennes II in the CFA2, contributing with two goals for the reserve side this season.

With Seamus Coleman’s stock continuing to grow, Roberto Martinez may be aware that in the coming years the Irishman could be on the move to one of the Premier League’s elite.

So with the future in mind, moving now for a well thought-of full-back could provide a seamless transition in the seasons ahead.
