Everton give Man Utd helping hand with Manchester City win

Manchester United have moved level on points with Manchester City thanks to Everton’s 1-0 victory over the Citizens.

Darron Gibson – who joined the Toffees from United in this transfer window – struck the only goal of the game in the second-half with a deflected drive.

Meanwhile, United comfortably saw off Stoke City thanks to a penalty apiece from Dimitar Barbatov and Javier Hernandez.

The results have seen City’s odds drift to 8/13 to win their maiden Premier League title, while United have been cut to 13/10 to retain their crown.

City are still on top because of their superior goal difference but with just one win in their previous five Premier League away games there is certainly cause for concern for Mancini.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s slim title ambitions are all but over following their 1-1 draw away to Swansea City.

The Blues trailed for much of the match but a Neil Taylor own-goal in injury time saw the west London side pick up a point.

Chelsea are now 100/1 to win the Premier League but finishing in fourth place is their major concern at this time.

They are 4/11 to make the Champions League places but are just four points ahead of Liverpool who saw off Wolves 3-0 on Tuesday.

The Reds are 5/2 to finish in the top four and make it back into the Champions League and, with Andy Carroll finding the net for Kenny Dalglish’s men and looking far better in recent games, that could be well worth a punt – especially with Luis Suarez due to return from suspension for the closing weeks of the season.
