Demba Ba could be set for a return to the Premier League with his former club West Ham according to Ladbrokes’ latest odds.
The bookmaker makes it an even money shot that Ba follows former boss Slaven Bilic from Besiktas to the Boleyn Ground in this transfer window.
Bilic was the man that brought the 30-year-old striker to the Turkish club from Chelsea 12 months ago, and it is reported that they had an excellent working relationship.
A return to the Premier League could see the Senegalese link up with the club that he netted seven goals in 13 games for four years ago, as the Hammers seek out reinforcements.
An impending Europa League campaign means the capital side will need more bodies through the door if they are to avoid a slip in league form as the season develops.
It is reported that his current employers are undergoing potentially serious financial problems, and could be open to cashing in on Ba while they can.
With 27 goals in 44 games for the Black Eagles last season, the hitman has clearly still got it, and if the price is right, he could be a popular signing amongst the Upton Park fanbase.
The Hammers’ are set to add to their attacking numbers over the summer with Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho both spending time on the sidelines this season.
One drawback could be that Ba himself has a history of knee issues, which could pour water on any plans to bring him back to London.
But with a clear season last year, his medical problems could be behind him, and with Bilic knowing just how to get the best out of the forward, a reunion could come sooner than expected.
