David de Gea is odds-on to start the 2020/21 season in goal for Manchester United, according to our traders.
Despite a shocking FA Cup semi-final for the Spaniard, we make him 8/13 to start their first game of next season, with Dean Henderson being an 11/8 shot.
De Gea has been a brick wall in the United net for many years, picking up the Club’s Player of the Year award on three occasions.
But with Henderson excelling for Sheffield United, his stock has risen so much that many feel he’s the right man for the job.
The other one in this triangle is Man United’s long-term second-choice Sergio Romero. The Argentine is arguably the best back-up in the league and may get his chance to prove himself as the main man.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “De Gea’s hardly had the best season of his career and while plenty of United fans want him out of the door, it looks as though he’ll be around for at least another season.”
