Crystal Palace look to reel in Fleetwood man before window shuts

Published:

Crystal Palace have a history of mining the Football League for hidden gems, with the likes of Yannick Bolasie, Dwight Gayle and Joel Ward some of the memorable recent examples.

And it seems Alan Pardew is racing against the clock to bring in the next lower league talent, Fleetwood Town forward David Ball.

The 26-year-old began his career on the books of Manchester City, but made his name with Fleetwood, having joined the Cod Army in 2013

And having netted 30 goals at Highbury Stadium, including a strike which made FIFA’s 2015 Goal of the Year shortlist, the Manchester-born talent has proved to be the finest catch the Lancashire club have made in recent years.

However, it seems that bigger and better things could be to come for the former Swindon Town man, with Palace reportedly keen to secure a last-gasp Deadline Day deal for the skilled hitman.

The Eagles are next in action when they travel to Middlesbrough, with 13/5 for the south London club to win their first away game in seven attempts.
