Chelsea have emphasised their 5/4 favouritism over the opening two Premier League games with resounding 6-0 victories at home to West Brom and away to Wigan.
This weekend they face a Stoke side who they comfortably thumped 7-0 in this fixture last season.
With two hat-tricks in his last two games at Stamford Bridge, Didier Drogba is 8/1 to bag another against Tony Pulis’ men and Chelsea are comfortable 1/9 favourites to come away with all three points.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men have been in great nick in front of goal, especially Florent Malouda who after three goals in two games is Evens to score anytime but Frank Lampard has netted four times in four games against the Potters and is 4/5 to continue his run.
Stoke scored the fewest away goals, 10, in the Premier League last season and as no team has stopped Chelsea scoring at home in the previous 22 matches, they look certain to struggle at Stamford Bridge – their odds of 22/1 imply no chance of snatching three points.
Whilst the odds suggest Stoke will be on the receiving end of a rollicking there may be some value in the goals market as Chelsea, despite last season’s 7-0 victory, only average 1.85 goals per home game against Stoke and the 9/4 for the total goals to be under 2.5 is very tempting.
Kenwyne Jones has a slight chance of making the Stoke side according to Tony Pulis, but even with the addition of their big summer signing, Stoke are unlikely to threaten the Chelsea goal and Petr Cech is 4/6 to keep a clean sheet.
Stoke struggle to score on the road and Chelsea should win easily. See the full Chelsea vs Stoke match betting market here.
