Preview, odds and Chelsea v Arsenal betting tips

Super Sunday starts with a massive London derby between Chelsea and leaders Arsenal, who are the slightest of underdogs at 17/10 to win.

We have already previewed the last Premier League game of the weekend, the clash between Tottenham and Liverpool, plus we have our usual both teams to score tips and four selections from the Championship and FA Cup.

One of the main talking points is Blues striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang facing his former club for the first time as we look at the odds and markets in our Chelsea v Arsenal betting tips.

Graham Potter lost his first match as Chelsea boss at his former club Brighton last weekend, but his players bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in their final Champions League group game on Wednesday which saw Denis Zakaria score on his debut and Ben Chilwell leave the ground on crutches with a hamstring injury.

The England left-back is unlikely to be fit enough for the World Cup which starts on November 20, but Potter at least has Marc Cucurella available to fill the gap.

Chelsea remain unbeaten at home this season in all competitions, with six of their eight games involving goals at both ends which can be backed at 4/6.

With a tight match in prospect it may be worth considering both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at 23/20 which would have paid out in half of those games at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal were in Europa League action on Thursday night so they are disadvantaged in that sense, especially with an early kick-off on Sunday, but Mikel Arteta may decide to keep his powder dry against the weakest team in the group.

The Gunners remain two points clear of defending champions Manchester City at the top of the table following Sundayā€™s 5-0 rout of Nottingham Forest which brought their number of wins to double figures from the 12 they have played.

As well as topping the Premier League table, Arsenal also have the best half-time record in the division, leading at the break nine times and that option looks interesting at 23/10.

Away from home, their record stands at W5 D0 L1, although they only faced one top-six side during that period; Manchester United, who led at the interval.

Chelsea are also one of four teams yet to lose at home this season, so a draw at 23/10 does not lack appeal, while in the #GetAPrice ā€“ Both teams market, a goal in both halves and the match to end all square is 5/1.

Chelsea v Arsenal form

Interestingly, the away team has come out on top in the previous three Premier League meetings between these clubs which adds fuel to the fire this could be Arsenalā€™s day.

The Gunners have lost just one of the last six matches against Chelsea which included a 2-1 comeback win in the 2020 FA Cup final when Aubameyang scored both goals.

Both teams to score, Aubameyang and Gabriel Jesus to have at least one shot on target looks tempting at 15/8 as a #GetAPrice ā€“ Match and Player Combos option, but they have not scored in six and seven games respectively and the formerā€™s shot per game average is just one in the Premier League, while the Brazilianā€™s is 3.5.

That said, the 33-year-old striker may have a point to prove after a big fall-out with Arteta led to his move to Barcelona in February.

The last match between these sides came in April when Arsenal got their top-four bid back on track with a 4-2 victory in a game which was 2-2 at the break.

Both teams to score in the first half paid out in the Gunnersā€™ home wins against Tottenham and Liverpool, so this market looks a good shout at 17/5 in our Chelsea v Arsenal betting tips.

Chelsea v Arsenal team news

Chilwellā€™s injury is a ā€œblowā€, according to Potter, who is already without Reece James, Wesley Fofana and Nā€™Golo Kante.

Goalkeeper Kepa sustained a foot injury during the 4-1 defeat at the Amex Stadium and is unavailable for the derby, so Edouard Mendy will continue between the posts as he did on Wednesday.

Mateo Kovacic was not risked against the Croats because of a calf issue, so it remains to be seen whether he is fit to return.

Potter left Thiago Silva, Conor Gallagher and Christian Pulisic on the bench and withdrew Aubameyang, Kalidou Koulibaly and Kai Havertz 25 minutes from time with this game in mind.

Arsenalā€™s Bukayo Saka has recovered from a knock at the weekend and Oleksandr Zinchenko is back in training.

Goalscorer odds

Aubameyang is the 9/2 favourite to get the ball rolling and 15/8 to find the net any time on Sunday.

The Gabon striker may be going through a mini goal drought, but he set up Raheem Sterlingā€™s opener and later struck the crossbar from distance.

Sterling and Havertz are both 11/2 and 9/4 in the two goalscorer markets, while Pulisic, who opened the scoring in the 2020 FA Cup final, is 7/1 and 14/5.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Jorginho have both scored a couple of goals against Arsenal in the last three seasons and are 20/1 and 4/1 respectively to be on target, while the Italian is 11/1 to break the deadlock.

For the visitors Gabriel Martinelli has drawn first blood in two of his last four Premier League games and is 6/1 to repeat the trick or 12/5 to score as one of our Chelsea v Arsenal betting tips, while Jesus is 5/1 and 2/1.

Reiss Nelson bagged a double as a first-half replacement for Saka against Forest and is 10/3 to breach Chelseaā€™s defence, although he is an unlikely starter.
