Chelsea lead Deadline Day race for Juventus’ UCL winning striker

Having won league titles in Germany, Italy, and Croatia, and reached Champions League finals with two different clubs, it’s fair to say Mario Mandzukic is one of Europe’s most valuable strikers.

And it seems Chelsea could be about to get their hands on the prized hitman, with odds of 3/1 for Mandzukic to join the Blues in a marquee Deadline Day deal.

Netting an astonishing 68 goals in 131 games over three seasons at Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, the 30-year-old has struggled somewhat to rediscover his best form at Juventus, but it seems a former boss of the Old Lady could be set to revive the Croatian’s career.

New Blues boss Antonio Conte has let strikers Radamel Falcao and Alexandre Pato exit the club this summer once their loan deals ended.

Despite bringing in lightning-fast Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi last month, reports are that the Italian wants another option up front as the west London outfit look to build a title challenge.

With Mandzukic’s muscular injury issues seemingly beyond him and a spectacular goal record in his career – with over 200 strikes for club and country – the Blues would be wise to take a chance on him.

And with Transfermarkt.co.uk valuing the 30-year-old at £15.3m, he could well be a bit of a bargain for the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Chelsea are next in action at Swansea, with 4/7 for Conte’s men to take all three points.

So, will we see Mandzukic adding a Premier League goal to his list of career landmarks at the Liberty Stadium in 11 days time?
