Liverpool are 25/1 to win the 2011/12 Premier League title and this could be great value following comments that they now have the best strike pairing in the Premier League.
A poor start to the current season quickly ended Liverpool’s title challenge, but the appointment of Kenny Dalglish as manager has inspired an improvement in form and they are now on course to finish in the top six at worst.
The January signings of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez have also breathed new optimism into Liverpool and the fans will be looking forward to laying down a stronger title challenge next season.
This could be especially likely when both are fully fit and have grasped an understanding of each other’s strengths.
Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard is convinced that the duo will become the real deal and already believes that they are top-flight’s “most feared” partnership.
He also told talkSPORT: “One thing that’s important to remember with Andy is that he’s superb on the floor.
“If we are in a difficult game or we are chasing a game we can be more direct but the good thing to have him in our squad and why we’re so happy to have him is because we can mix it up, we can play either way now.
“We can play in behind, we can play long, and with Suarez running off him, it gives us a whole new dimension.”
Whether the duo are the best partnership in the whole of the Premier League though is open to debate, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all liable to feel that they rival Liverpool in this department.
Liverpool will be hoping that Carroll and Suarez have a big impact in their next game at West Brom.
Premier League betting odds have Liverpool at 13/10 to leave the Hawthorns with the three points, with Suarez 1/1 to score in the 90 minutes and Carroll 6/5 in the same market.
A £20 stake on the scorecast of Liverpool beating West Brom 2-1 and Carroll scoring first would return £500. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of free bets totalling up to £60.
