Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew aims to make it three wins on the bounce since swapping St James’ for Selhurst Park but history suggests three points won’t come easy against Burnley.
Four of the last eight meetings have ended all square with the Eagles and the Clarets winning two games apiece and all but one of those ties has been a hard-fought low scoring affair.
Palace can be backed to follow up their win over Spurs with another victory at 11/5, while Burnley will look to bounce back from FA Cup defeat to the same opponents at odds of 13/10.
However, there is plenty to suggest a draw is on the cards, making a share of the spoils one of our three best bets.
Draw @ 11/5
As mentioned above four of the last eight meetings between these sides have ended without a winner and recent form has seen both sides pick up plenty of solo points.
Three of the Clarets last five games in all competitions have ended all square, while the Eagles have been involved in four stalemates from their last five Premier League games on the road.
Dwight Gayle to score first @ 6/1
Palace’s need for firepower is clear to see, with the absent Mile Jedinak still the club’s top scorer.
Arsenal’s Yaya Sanogo has arrived on loan and will be eager to impress but while he has only three goals to his name this season Dwight Gayle looks a solid pick.
All three of Gayle’s goals this term have opened the scoring and with Palace riding a wave of confidence he could repeat the feat again here.
Under 1.5 @ 37/20
With seven of the last eight meetings yielding under 2.5 goals there is a temptation to play it safe and take the 13/30, however, with five of those games seeing under 1.5 the advice is to take the bigger price.
Three of those meetings ended with a 0-0 scoreline and only one game was taken by a margin larger than one goal so don’t expect this game to be high on the Match of the Day running order.
