There may well be three teams that play in claret and blue in the Premier League this season, but this could easily drop to one for the 2015/16 campaign.

As West Ham continue their largely unexpected assault on the top four, Burnley and Aston Villa are fulfilling expectation by being fully engrossed in the battle at the bottom.

This may put extra pressure on this Turf Moor clash, where the hosts are the clear favourites to win at 6/5. Ladbrokes are also offering the top price on this outcome, which will give Burnley a third successive Premier League victory.

Alternatively, Paul Lambert’s men can be backed at 23/10 to gain a first triumph in eight games, with the draw available at 9/4.

However, these are the two bets that we prefer.

Both team to score = No @ 9/10

Unsurprisingly for teams in relegation trouble, scoring goals have been a problem and these are the worst pair in the top flight in this respect.

Villa have managed only six goals and Burnley eight.

Also suggesting goals will be at a premium here is the fact they have kept four clean sheets apiece, which is a tally only Newcastle, Swansea and Southampton can better.

Furthermore, both teams have been on target in only three of Villa’s 13 Premier League fixtures so far, alongside only five of those involving Sean Dyche’s side.

Result after 30 mins = Aston Villa to win @ 18/5

Villa’s scoring woes have already been highlighted, but when they do find the net, it tends to be early.

In the last four fixtures in which they have managed to trouble the scorers, the goals have arrived before the half-hour mark.

After a run of four straight clean sheets, Burnley have now only shut out the opposition only once in their last six contests.
