It’s been a difficult start to life in the Premier League for Brighton & Hove Albion. But there’s plenty of time for the Seagulls to make improvements.
And the latest reports in the press claim Chris Hughton’s men are eyeing up Inter Milan striker Stevan Jovetic.
The 27-year-old has fallen out of favour at the San Siro, but would represent a sizeable coup for Brighton.
And our traders say Jovetic is just 7/4 to join the Seagulls this summer.
A clinical finisher, Jovetic is looking to kick-start his career, and Brighton could be the perfect opportunity.
The Montenegro forward has played in the Premier League before, during two seasons with Manchester City, and also boasts a wealth of European experience.
But should he move to the South Coast, he’ll need to be ready for a fight.
The Seagulls are still pointless this season, losing 2-0 in their opening fixtures to Man City and Leicester City.
And at Evens, they’re favourites to be relegated this season.
But signing Jovetic would certainly help their chances, with the striker a proven goalscorer.
After emerging on the scene with Partizan Belgrade, Jovetic really came to attention during his five-year star in Fiorentina, where he netted 27 Serie A goals between 2011 and 2013.
That was enough to persuade Man City to part with £25m four years ago. But despite a reasonable 11-goal haul from 39 games, his time in the North-West was hampered by injury.
And the move to Inter hasn’t worked out either, with the Italian giants going through a series of political and managerial changes.
So while Jovetic could be massively important to Brighton this season, the Seagulls in turn could be equally important in salvaging the forward’s career.
