Frank Lampard may have had mixed feelings about his first Manchester City goal but his equaliser against former club Chelsea has left Ladbrokes in little doubt.
The ex-England and Chelsea stalwart came off the bench to score and admitted afterwards that he was unsure how to feel about his strike.
“I’m a bit lost for words. I didn’t expect to come on and score like that. I come on and the Chelsea fans are signing and that’s emotional, then I’m playing for this club who have taken me in brilliantly as well,” he said.
Lampard has now netted in 18 consecutive Premier League seasons and with the Chelsea goal proving that he still has plenty to offer top flight football Ladbrokes has moved quickly to install a special price for the former Stamford Bridge favourite to continue his scoring run next time out.
Hull are City’s next opponents in the league and after taking the last two meetings by a 2-0 scoreline Manuel Pellegrini’s men will be confident of scoring and winning at the KC Stadium.
The bookmaker has made Lampard an 11/4 shot to find the back of the net at anytime during the match and it looks a tempting price given that Lamps has downed the Tigers on more than one occasion throughout his career.
Just two of his 211 Chelsea goals came against Steve Bruce’s side, but on both occasions his team went on to win to nil, beating the Tigers 2-0 in August last year and 3-0 in October 2008.
While Lampard may not possess the same threat that made him Chelsea’s all-time top scorer he still hit eight strikes from 40 midfield appearances for the Blues last term and is already off the mark for the Citizens having played only two games.
With City losing just one of the last six meetings with Hull, this is a breaking bet that is simply too good to ignore.
