Bournemouth player drops biggest hint yet in the Jack Wilshere saga

Published:

An announcement was expected earlier on this morning regarding Jack Wilshere’s next move – and we’ve already seen three teams head the market so far today.

But while both Roma and Crystal Palace have expressed serious interest in the England midfielder, Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe may have given away his former teammate’s destination.

On his way to training this morning, the ex-Arsenal player – who signed for the Cherries for £10m from Wolves in January –stopped for a quick chat with a reporter.

When asked what the situation was, Afobe replied “I can’t say.”

The former England Under-21 international was grinning from ear to ear as the reporter pushed further for an answer. Afobe then went on to say “It’s possible, yeah it’s possible”, before heading inside.

Wilshere is thought to have met with Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe yesterday to discuss the possibility of a temporary move to Dean Court.

Afobe and Wilshere spent much of their youth career playing together at Arsenal and it’s well known that the pair are close friends, so if anyone was to know something we didn’t, the chances are it would be the Bournemouth striker.

Wilshere is now just 1/3 to sign for the Cherries before the window slams shut tonight, and if Afobe’s response is anything to go by, we’d recommend jumping on that price before any more news breaks.
