History is not on Birmingham’s side as they look to retain their unbeaten start to the season by taking a result from Bolton.
Both sides have made identical starts to the latest Premier League campaign and feature in the top six of the standings after opening with a win and a draw.
However, it is Alex McLeish’s team that look most at risk of suffering their first defeat as they have lost their last three showdowns with Bolton.
Bolton are 11/10 to extend this run, with 2-1, which is 8/1, looking like a decent shout for the correct scoreline as this was the way the game finished in both Premier League meetings last season.
Meanwhile, Birmingham’s away form in 2010 is not the best, winning only once at relegated Portsmouth.
They are 12/5 to build on their strong start with a victory and can take heart from their draw away from home on the opening day of the season when battling back from two goals down at Sunderland.
Despite not scoring himself, Sebastian Larsson has played a key part in three of Birmingham’s four league goals so far this season and is 4/1 to strike at any time within the 90 minutes against Bolton.
McLeish may also opt to hand a first league start to Matt Derbyshire, particualrly as he found the net in their midweek Carling Cup second round win over Rochdale.
He is 5/2 to make it two in as many games.
For Bolton, Kevin Davies grabbed the opener in last season’s game at the Reebok and is 11/2 to do so again.
The draw is also available at 12/5. See the whole Bolton vs Birmingham match betting market.
