Kenny Dalglish may not have won a single game while in charge of Liverpool, but there is certainly a new sense of optimism around the club.
The Reds are currently a very tempting 5/4 in the Premier League betting and look good to come out on top – despite their abysmal away record. Liverpool have won just one of their last 20 away Premier League games and haven’t so much as picked up a point in their previous five.
However, they have found the net in their last four games on the road and, with the Reds looking very good for large parts of the Merseyside derby, backing them to come out on top looks very tempting.
Wolves won’t roll over though and have shown a huge improvement recently, if not in performances, then certainly in results. Mick McCarthy’s side have lost just one of their last five at Molineux and have seen off Chelsea, Birmingham and Sunderland during that run.
Wolves are currently 9/4 to get the victory and could certainly be worth a bet – especially if you take advantage of a free bet worth £25. If your bet came in you would stand to win a very tidy £81.
However, with Liverpool having a point to prove after their 1-0 defeat to Wolves at Anfield earlier in the season and with Dalglish and new coach Steve Clarke having had a full week to work with the players, backing Liverpool to get their first away win of 2011 at 5/4 looks well worth a bet.
