He may have won a lifetime achievement award at the age of 35, but David Beckham could inspire Tottenham Hotspur to a title charge over the next two months.
Spurs currently sit in fourth in the Premier League, just five points off top of the table Manchester United and the singing of Beckham would be a major boost to a club who are 20/1 to win the Premier League.
Harry Redknapp has declared his interest in signing Beckham and has also suggested that Beckham is keen to turn out for the North London club.
“David fancies it,” said Redknapp, “he would like to come and play here.”
There is a two-month break before the start of the Major League Soccer season in the United States and the past two seasons have seen Beckham join AC Milan to get match fit for the new season.

But Beckham seems to have changes his mind about playing in England and Spurs look the likeliest suitors, although Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has also declared his interest.
Beckham’s move could be just one of many high-profile signings by clubs in the January transfer window with Blackburn Rovers being linked to Ronaldinho, Man Utd with Kaka and Manchester City close to capturing Edin Dzeko.
You can get 4/6 that the British transfer fee record of £32.5m is broken in 2011, and with the wealth that Man City can boast, that looks as close to a sure thing as punters will find.
