The destinations for Leicester’s Premier League heroes are set to be some of the headline stories of the upcoming transfer window, and N’Golo Kante is sure to be highly-sought after.
The Frenchman has been nothing short of sensational for the Foxes since joining from Caen nearly 12 months ago, literally powering the east Midlands side to the top of the table.
It’s no surprise that nearly every big club in Europe has been linked with the 25-year-old however, and Claudio Ranieri faces a battle to keep hold of his star men, especially after the press claimed this week that Kante’s contract features a release clause.
The Daily Mail have reported this week that the midfield star has a £20m clause in his deal, and they reckon Arsenal are first in line to snap Kante up.
The Gunners have seen their season implode in the early months of 2016, and with a host of midfield men set to exit the Emirates in the summer, Arsene Wenger is under pressure to bring in some title-winning quality to ease the increasing frustration in the red half of north London.
If true, the clause would still see Leicester massively cash in on the midfield dynamo, who cost just £5.4m less than a year ago.
But with so much attention from clubs such as PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea, it’s believed Leicester were, and perhaps still are, seeking a fee nearer £35m.
Wherever Kante goes though, he’s seemingly set to be a Premier League title winner come the start of next season, with Leicester seven points ahead at the top, and just five matches remaining.
For Arsenal, they’re next in action against Crystal Palace, with a top-four place not quite secured just yet.
The Gunners are 1/3 for another three points, with Alan Pardew’s Eagles 8/1 to heap further gloom upon the Emirates.
