Portsmouth are the lowest ranked team left in the FA Cup fifth round and will start off as underdogs against the thirteen-time winners, Arsenal tonight.
The Gunners will be keen to reach the quarter-finals following their disappointing Europa League exit and Mikel Arteta is likely to keep faith in his young stars at Fratton Park against the League One club.
The action gets underway at 7:45pm on BT Sport 1 and we’ve got all the pre-match odds and info right here…
It’s no surprise that Arsenal are 4/9 favourites having already beaten Leeds United and Bournemouth in the earlier rounds.
But who doesn’t love an underdog? The FA Cup is renowned for its famous upsets and if you fancy Pompey to spring a surprise they are priced at 6/1 outsiders.
Portsmouth have not made the quarter-final of the FA Cup since 2009-10, when they ended up reaching the final. Kenny Jackett’s side will look to make it difficult for the Premier League visitors and will fancy their chances under the lights with home advantage.
If the scores remain level after 90 minutes extra time and penalties will be played with a price of 17/5 for a draw.
Fratton Park is a difficult place to go and Mikel Arteta knows that this is his last chance of silverware this season as he bids to get Arsenal’s season back on track.
Arsenal will need to make changes to an injury hit squad, especially in defence. Kieran Tierney, Sead Kolasinac and Calum Chambers are still missing, which means Bukayo Saka is expected to start at left-back. Shkodran Mustafi is also a doubt so Pablo Mari could be in line for his first start.
A midfield pair of Matteo Guendouzi, Granit Xhaka will need to protect a make-shift back line and look to exploit the creative spark of Nicolas Pepe, Joe Willock, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli.
For Pompey, captain Tom Naylor and Ronan Curtis should recover from knocks picked up in Friday night’s win over Rochdale. The hosts could choose to retain much of the starting XI that started on Friday with Steve Seddon pushing for a start after scoring off the bench against Dale.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the obvious goal threat for Arsenal if he plays. He is 8/13 favourite to score anytime and is 11/2 to score in either half with our Price Boost. Eddie Nketiah has scored in each of his last three domestic cup games and is 19/20 to continue his goalscoring form.
For Portsmouth, top scorer Ronan Curtis will look to add to his tally of 13 goals this season. The striker is 17/2 to score first and 25/1 to score 2 or more against a leaky Arsenal back line.
