Mexico v Honduras betting tips and odds
Defending champions Mexico face Honduras in the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarter-finals as firm 4/9 favourites to reach the last four in the early hours of Sunday morning.
El Tri topped their group without conceding, while Honduras missed the chance to head their pool on the back of a 2-0 defeat by Qatar to finish as runners-up.
A clash with either Costa Rica or Canada awaits the winner so let’s examine some of the markets and odds in our Mexico v Honduras betting tips.

Mexico have won the Gold Cup a record 11 times although you wouldn’t have believed it after an underwhelming goalless draw against Trinidad & Tobago in their opening group game.

Honduras won the last competitive meeting between the sides 3-2 in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup and are 11/2 to repeat that win, but Mexico’s defence, marshalled by Hector Moreno and Carlos Salcedo, looks too strong.
Talking Tactics
Mexico coach Jaime Lozano has favoured a 4-3-3 formation throughout the tournament, with Funes Mori spearheading the attack flanked by Orbelin Pinada and Jesus Corona.
Napoli winger Hirving Lozano started the goalless draw with Trinidad & Tobago but was replaced by Pinada for the wins against Guatemala and El Salvador.
Honduras played four at the back for their first two games, but went with five against Qatar and may look to pack their defence once more against the superior Mexicans.
Goalscorer Odds
Runes Mori is the 14/5 favourite to break the deadlock and 11/10 to score any time, while Corona and Pineda are 11/2 and 8/1 to get the game’s first goal and 23/10 and 3/1 to find the net.
Honduras’ Romell Quioto is the joint top scorer in the competition with three goals and is 10/1 and 4/1 in the two markets.
