Manchester United v Fulham betting tips: Hosts seek response

Edinson Cavani, Wolves v Manchester United betting tips

Manchester United host relegated Fulham hoping to avoid a third successive home defeat having lost to Leicester and Liverpool in the space of three days in a punishing fixture schedule.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side need to win one of their last two games to finish runners-up to Manchester City and they are 2/5 to beat a team that have lost seven of their last eight matches.

The Red Devils will want to get back on track with a Europa League final against Villarreal at the end of the month so let’s check out the facts and figures to help with your Manchester United v Fulham betting tips.

Match Odds

Six of United’s last seven games have produced at least three goals and they are evens to win and over 2.5 goals at Old Trafford where there will be up to 10,000 fans attending the game on Tuesday.

That was the case earlier in January when United fought back from an early goal to win 2-1 at Craven Cottage.

That was the first of four games in 2021 that United had won from behind and they are available at 8/1 to do so again while Fulham are 13/5 to score first.

However, the Cottagers have scored just five goals in their last 11 games and a home win to nil is priced at 11/8, although United will be without injured centre-back Harry Maguire.

Fulham have also been down at the break in their last three games, losing on each occasion, so we go United HT/United FT at 23/20.

Talking Tactics

With Maguire out of the running with an ankle injury, Eric Bailly is expected to partner Victor Lindelof in the heart of defence once more.

Anthony Martial remains out but he could return for the final Premier League game of the season at Wolves next weekend.

Scott Parker made four changes for the trip to Southampton but they lost by a two-goal margin for the third successive game which can be backed at 16/5.

Goalscorer Odds

Edinson Cavani has scored eight times in his last nine appearances and he was on target in the 2-1 win at Fulham, so we make the Uruguay striker 3/1 to break the deadlock and evens to find the net any time.

Mason Greenwood is ending the season in style with eight goals in 12 appearances and can be backed at 4/1 to draw first blood and 7/5 to get on the scoresheet while Marcus Rashford, who ended a seven-game goalless run against Liverpool, is 17/10 to find the net.

Ademola Lookman bagged the opening goal against United at the start of the year and is 12/1 to do so again or 4/1 to score.
