Manchester City face Newcastle United at St. James’ Park in the quarter-final of the FA Cup after narrowly beating Championship side Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 in the fifth-round.
It’s a draw that has seen Pep Guardiola’s placed at odds on favourites at 8/11 to retain the oldest national football competition in the world.
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea knocked out runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool in the fifth-round and have been rewarded for their efforts with an away tie against Leicester City in the next round. Chelsea are 13/2 second favourites, with Leicester close behind at 8/1.
Arsenal’s only remaining chance of winning a trophy this season means Mikel Arteta could take this competition seriously, but they’re up against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in the quarters.
The Gunners are 9/1 to notch a record 14th FA Cup title, with Manchester United also at 9s to equal Arsenal’s current record of 13 titles.
Despite knocking out Tottenham Hotspur on penalties, Norwich City are out at 33s to win a first FA Cup title in the history of the club.
Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati said: “Liverpool may be running away with things in the league but it looks as though it’s Man City who are going to take the rest of the domestic trophies this season.”
